Led by Natalie Packer, this one-day practical training course is designed specifically to provide the SEN Administrator with the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to fully develop their role. It is suitable for colleagues working with SEN administration primary or secondary schools.
This expert-led training will offer delegates a better understanding of:
• Understanding the Children and Families Act and SEND Code of Practice (0 to 25)
• Managing SEN paperwork (with exemplars)
• Reviewing your SEN systems and processes
• Understanding SEN terminology and legislation
• Communicating effectively with pupils, parents, staff and other professionals
Meet your trainer:
Natalie Packer is an educational consultant specialising in School Improvement and SEN. Previously, she has been an Executive Headteacher in Leicestershire and a Senior Adviser for the National Strategies SEN team, working alongside the DfE to support the implementation of the Achievement for All (AfA) project to improve outcomes for vulnerable learners. Prior to this, Natalie worked as a Local Authority Adviser for Special Educational Needs and School Improvement within the East Midlands where she was responsible for implementing a wide range of cross-phase continuing professional development and supporting schools with the leadership of SEN.
Natalie has developed and delivered national training on a wide range of issues, including SEN leadership, Pupil Premium and outstanding teaching and learning. She receives outstanding evaluations from SENCOs, SEN Administrators and Senior Leaders attending her events. Natalie is an associate consultant for nasen and the Academies Enterprise Trust. She is the author of ‘The Perfect SENCO‘ publication, an essential read for any senior leader responsible for improving provision and outcomes for pupils with SEN.
